Vendart was a local attempt at making the general public aware of the diversity of expression present with in and outside of Toronto. This project was initiated to challenge people’s notions on viewing, acquiring and interacting with art and ideas in order to broaden communication and understanding. In order to accomplish this goal we put a creative twist on the vending machine system of distributing goods to the public by coming up with different ways of putting art and ideas in a public space. Vendart units were public art spaces, where art and ideas had a new voice outside the gallery and media circuits. These units created entertaining sculptural playgrounds any where they were placed.

The Alt was an artist collective, formed by Sonny B and Lorena Salomé, that aimed to provide an alternative space where individuals could connect, find relief from every day pressures, express themselves, gain new skills and play. By acting as a bridge between different art communities in Toronto The Alt hoped to make art more accessible for all and provide a basis for networking and skill building. The Alt focused on supporting local artists and designers through the exhibition and selling of their work and providing an opportunity to network with other artist communities. Some of the events were: Midnight Market- Monthly Art and Crafts Market at The Augusta House in Kensington Market. Sound control- a sound themed party with performers, art installationas and bands. Montage-organized with Manifesto, outdoor screening and video-installations in Parkdale, Toronto.Oaxaca Experimental- a night of experimenal mexican short-films, curated by Guillermina Buzio, performance by Key Pettigrew.
